Baluchistan - Farting Just Aint Funny.

It sounds a bit extreme but that is exactly what you may feel you should do if you are a Baluch.

In case you didn't already know then according to Wikipedia, "The Baluch are an Iranian people inhabiting the region of Baluchistan in the southeast corner of the Iranian plateau in Southwest Asia, including parts of Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan".

Writer Ahmar Mustikhan, a Baluch himself has written a very insightful article that looks at the subject of farting in a region of current ideological conflict between the Middle East and the Western World. Ahmar illustrates the fact that there is even a cultural divide on a subject that most people would believe unites us all in a universal manner, the fart gag. The bottom line is that if your a Baluch it just isn't funny to fart in public, in fact its a matter of life and death.

The good news though is that Ahmar, a Baluch himself, says he is in fact a big Mr. Methane fan, so maybe common ground can be found on other issues upon which our troubled world can build a lasting peace for all.
